First, let’s say that there is a difference between “fun” and “essential.”

There can be overlap, but they’re ultimately not the same thing.

So, when you’re trying to rank them in order of priority, keep in mind whether you need them or only want them.

Technically, you may not need anything to embark on your new life together other than your mutual commitment to love and support each other.

But you know what we mean. 😆

Anyway, with that being said, let’s dive into some of our top ideas for a wedding registry.

Note: Regarding the order of priority, you know your personal situation, so try to use your best judgment.

For The Bathroom

Bet you didn’t think we’d start here, huh?

Well, it makes sense, given that each of us will spend around an hour or more every day in the bathroom.

And with two people in the house, the bathroom is probably being occupied by someone for at least two solid hours every day.

So, it’s smart to do whatever you can to make the bathroom a nice place.

And that includes asking for one or more of these bathroom-focused ideas for a wedding registry:

  1. Nice, fluffy bath towels (no plastics or synthetic fabrics)
  2. Individual organizers for both, so that you can separate your personal hygiene products
  3. A beautiful shower curtain and liner
  4. Some good smelling houseplants (to avoid toxic perfumes and scented candles)
  5. High-quality Bluetooth speaker (to use while soaking in the bathtub)

For The Bedroom

You probably thought that this would be the first section of the article, you naughty thing, you. 😛

But in seriousness, the bedroom is a very important part of the house.

Aside from being the designated space for marital intimacy, it is also the place where sleep happens… for at least 7-8 hours a night, if health recommendations are being followed.

That’s a considerable amount of time that will be spent in this room.

So, here are a few more ideas for a wedding registry to help make it a place well worth spending that time in.

  1. Satin sheets and pillowcases
  2. Ergonomic/Orthopedic pillows
  3. A big, poofy comforter for the colder months
  4. Heated mattress pad (also for the colder months)
  5. Light projector (to project stars, ocean waves, auroras, etc., onto the walls and ceiling)

For The Kitchen

Ok, most of the stuff in the previous two sections is more or less optional.

However, the kitchen is a place where things start to become essential (see what we did there?).

While strictly speaking, you can get by with little more than a decent knife and cooking pan, we’re pretty sure you’ll be wanting some other things in addition to that.

After all, you probably both have tastes and dietary preferences that you’ll want to accommodate as you experiment with your recipes throughout the years.

Eating out is also notoriously expensive these days, especially with tipping culture being as it is.

So, expect to do a lot of cooking (as if you haven’t already).

And with that in mind, these food-themed ideas for a wedding registry should help you spice things up in the kitchen.

  1. Vegetable chopper (this saves soooo much time)
  2. Food processor (also saves a ton of time when making sauces and such)
  3. Salad spinner (to make your salads crispy, not soggy)
  4. A really nice kitchen knife (preferably made in America or Japan)
  5. Metal or wood cutting board (to keep plastic out of your food)

For The Rest of The House

And now we at last move to the remainder of the house, including the living room, the garage, the basement, and whatever else it is that you have.

We’re putting all of these in the same section because, as we discussed, you’re going to be spending a disproportionately large amount of time in your bathroom, bedroom, and kitchen compared to everywhere else in your house.

The only exception might be if you’re one of those guys who has a separate room for gaming and regularly plays on his computer for 72 hours straight while slamming Rockstar energy drinks and refusing to shower.

Of course, if you’re reading this, you’re probably getting married.

So, you’re almost certainly not one of those… Right?

  1. A bookshelf (because TikTok is bad for you)
  2. Microfiber mop with washable/reusable mop cloths
  3. Carpet cleaner machine (especially if you have pets)
  4. Wall projector (turn your whole wall into a screen for movies and games)
  5. Storage rack for the garage (don’t lose your car tools or let your garage become a mess)

For Outside

The modern world we live in is very indoors centric, but that doesn’t mean you’ll be inside 100% of the time.

Whether you’re in your yard, on your porch, going hiking in the woods, or fighting with strangers over shrimp at a buffet on a cheap cruise, you’ll hopefully be getting fresh air sometimes.

And for those occasions, you’ll want to include some of these ideas for a wedding registry when you’re writing up your list.

  1. A proper backpack (not a student’s backpack, a hiker’s backpack)
  2. Hammock (preferably cotton)
  3. Lawn games!
  4. Garden arches (you can get a few and grow vine plants on them to make a tunnel)
  5. Meat smoker (can also be used for veggies)

That Makes 25 Ideas For A Wedding Registry!

And it should be enough to get you started, or at least get you started with brainstorming even more ideas.

You can technically ask for anything in your wedding registry, but be mindful of prices and whether someone can physically bring that item.

Of course, if it’s a large item, like a garden arch, they can order it for you as a gift on Amazon or something and have it delivered to you.

So, that’s not as big a deal.

But yeah, try not to have only costly items on your registry so that people with less money don’t feel pressured to spend a lot.

There is still plenty of high quality stuff out there (even Made in America stuff) that won’t cost a kidney.
